
The President of the Armenian Association of Developers, Gurgen Grigoryan, and Board Member Armen Sakapetoyan participated in the meeting with sector specialists initiated by the Urban Development Committee to discuss the initiative of the RA Government to develop strategies and jointly identify priorities in the urban development sector.
The meeting was held at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia. Representatives of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia were also present.
Within the framework of the development of the territorial and infrastructure development strategy, issues related to urban development and spatial planning, land management, infrastructure, and water systems were considered as a priority.
Deputy Chairman of the Urban Development Committee Nune Petrosyan and Advisor to the Rector of the RA National University of Urban Development Sargis Tovmasyan presented the priorities and problems set by the General Resettlement Project of Armenia, considered the possibilities of forming a polycentric structure of the territory of the Republic of Armenia, and developing clusters. It was noted that under the coordination of the Urban Development Committee, it is planned to develop a new General Resettlement Project of the Republic of Armenia, which should be consistent with the logic of the strategy being developed.
The participants of the discussion exchanged ideas in order to outline the cornerstone directions of the strategy.
The meetings will be ongoing to jointly discuss all the proposals.
